May 6, 2005 Press Release
Although I am relieved that the judge recognized that Rena Corban was a danger to herself and to society, I felt that the horrific fashion in which Liam suffered and the subsequent physiological damage inflicted on myself and on Jaden, merited a longer sentence. There is no sense of satisfaction. There is no sense of justice. There is only more sadness, grief, and emptiness. There are no winners in this case. There are only losers. The safety and well being of Jaden will remain my primary concern. Jaden will thrive. He is surrounded by responsible and sober adults who put his needs ahead of their own. He is active and is engaging in social activities with children his own age. His ongoing therapy will be closely monitored and will continue to determine what is best for Jaden . In time, I hope that I may become more involved in a number of issues of which I have become very passionate .I hope in time I can find the strength to educate the community on the issues of child custody in regards to alcoholics and the dangers of leaving children in vehicles. Liams death has touch so many people and his memory will last with all of us forever. I hope that a healing process can now begin, not just for myself, but for everyone one who has been affected by this great tragedy. Sincerely, Justin Paulsen ORIGINAL LETTER TO PROBATION January 3, 2005 HOME -
